Review the extracted prices against your bill.
| Component | Bill | Published | Unit | Check |
|---|
Public references checked October 18, 2026. This check never replaces bill-read prices or fills a missing price with an unconfirmed tariff.
Start with your bill, or choose an option below. You can take it one step at a time.
A clearer bill is the first step toward a better plan.
Use your bill’s prices to explore what a practical change could save.
Your recognized Riverside bill uses energy blocks: the first 15,000 kWh at $0.1664/kWh, then $0.2541/kWh. These are the published 2026 Schedule A flat-rate energy blocks. Confirm your assigned schedule with Riverside. Moving the same use to another hour does not change these energy charges.
Riverside official rate schedules · Business efficiency programs. Reviewed October 7, 2026. This scenario uses the recognized bill’s 2026 energy prices, not a live rate lookup.
Energy-only estimate. Fixed charges, demand charges and taxes are separate. Actual savings depend on what you change.
See what you could save by running suitable appliances during cheaper hours. This uses the electricity amount and prices you entered above. You do not need a battery.
Example: if you entered 100 kWh above, choosing “Half of it” moves 50 kWh to cheaper hours. Choose what feels practical; this is your assumption, not a prediction.
These settings can further reduce the amount you chose above. Leave this model off for the simple estimate.
Example: 4 hours with a drop of 0.4 per hour moves about half of the amount you selected, before any price-response adjustment.
This exploratory model uses response = 1 − (cheaper price ÷ current price)ε. It has not been fitted to your behavior. A bill alone cannot measure elasticity.
Electricity moved through the assumed window
| Hour | kWh moved | Energy saving |
|---|
The simple estimate multiplies the electricity amount by your chosen percentage and the difference between the two prices. Total electricity use stays the same.
Shiftable power q(t) = (X ÷ T) × chosen fraction × response × e−λt. Saving = ∫₀ᵀ q(t) × (current price − cheaper price) dt. X is flexible kWh; T is hours; λ is decay per hour.
With the advanced model off, this becomes X × your chosen fraction × the price difference. Unmoved energy remains in its original period. Prices are assumed constant within the selected periods; taxes, demand charges, credits and changing future tariffs are excluded.
Business bills may charge for the most power used at once. Explore one demand charge at a time.
Possible saving = reduction in billed kW × this charge's price per kW. It is a scenario for one billing period, not a guaranteed saving or a full bill forecast. Energy charges, taxes and other demand charges are separate. Some charges use earlier peaks or minimum amounts, so lowering today's peak may not lower those charges.
LADWP commercial demand rules · SCE commercial guidanceEstimate the CO₂ avoided from using less electricity. Enter a reduction in total use, not use moved to another hour.
Formula: avoided meter kWh × EPA non-baseload CO₂ rate (lb/MWh) × 0.45359237 kg/lb ÷ 1,000 ÷ (1 − grid loss fraction). Uses eGRID2023 revision 2, Summary Table 1. Non-baseload rates approximate displaced generation from reduced use. This is different from an average electricity-use carbon footprint.
CAMX: 958.3 lb CO₂/MWh; NWPP: 1,613.4; AZNM: 1,175.1, each with 4.1% grid losses. U.S. fallback: 1,372.5 with 4.2% losses. Data year is 2023, not a measured 2026 emissions rate. Sources checked October 6, 2026.

Bill discounts do not by themselves avoid electricity. Moving the same kWh to off-peak hours, reducing demand kW without reducing kWh, switching suppliers, and battery/solar scenarios are not assigned carbon savings by this calculator. An ordinary before/after bill difference can reflect weather, occupancy, business activity, billing days or solar exports; do not count it automatically as efficiency savings. Do not enter kW, dollars, solar exports or the entire bill's consumption as avoided kWh. Protect medical equipment and essential operations.
Already receiving Medical Baseline? This calculator cannot compare your special tariff yet. Preserve your existing discount and use SCE’s account-based comparison until that support is validated. A scanned bill that mentions Medical Baseline automatically flags this calculator.
Uses the October 1, 2026 approved tariff prices for standard SCE delivery-and-generation accounts. Compares four main plans for one billing period, before local taxes and common credits. Special accounts are screened out.
Business tariffs are not implemented in this residential calculator. Business demand charges need separate analysis; use your utility’s commercial account comparison.
Source: Schedule D sheet 2; TOU-D sheets 2, 4, 6 and 8; Part H sheets 2–3, effective October 1, 2026. CARE/FERA qualification remains in Find savings; full tariff treatment for those discounts is not implemented here yet.
Official SCE tariffsA single bill does not contain enough timing history to determine the cheapest plan. Use your utility’s personalized comparison, then review its results here. The app ranks the annual estimates on the same basis.
Get SCE’s usage-based comparisonSCE requires at least 8 months of usage. For CCA customers, a proxy using SCE generation is not a full CCA bill comparison: include your actual generation provider. Solar and discontinued plans need account-specific treatment. A switch can restrict later changes.
The SCE module above calculates supported standard-account charges from October 1, 2026 tariffs. Full coverage of discounts, special accounts and all California providers remains unfinished. This annual-estimate section ranks user-confirmed utility results.
For businesses already on TOU-GS-2-SEC-D. Enter OCPA generation time-period kWh and weekday peak demand from the bill. Compare Basic, Smart and 100% Renewable products within this same schedule. Delivery and taxes are excluded; this does not establish the cheapest overall tariff.
Limited price scenario for standard SCE bundled TOU-GS-2 accounts. This calculates energy and demand charges independently, but is not yet a validated full-bill comparison. Other utilities and CCA generation are unsupported here.
Use timestamp, kwh columns with interval-start timestamps and a UTC offset. Hourly data cannot establish 15-minute demand.

Small-business electric Climate Credits normally arrive in April and October. Eligible accounts use general-service or agricultural rates and exceed 20 kW maximum demand in no more than 3 months of the previous 12 months (Liberty: previous calendar year). The business must have fewer than 100 individually eligible accounts, including affiliated entities, counted separately in each investor-owned utility territory. Applies to PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, Pacific Power, Liberty and Bear Valley delivery territories, including CCA/energy-service-provider customers. Household income is not this test. Your utility verifies demand history and account aggregation; a single scanned bill cannot establish eligibility. Residential credit amounts do not establish the business amount.

For PG&E, SCE and SDG&E, 2026 electric credits arrive in August and September: $36.18, $36.00 and $49.36 respectively per credit. Bear Valley, Liberty and Pacific Power use April and November in 2026. Liberty’s listed amount has a pending-change note; check the source. Eligible credits already on your bill are not new savings.

|---|---|
| Anaheim | Uses the published 2026 income table and checks age, disability or veteran status. |
| Riverside / Pasadena | Includes the full published 1–8 person tables, filling the workbook's missing household sizes. |
| Burbank | Retains the confirmed higher limits; distinguishes BUSS from conflicting Lifeline assistance. |
| Silicon Valley Power | Uses June 2026 annual limits and both discount usage blocks. |
| Roseville | Shows the July 2026 20% benefit; requires confirmation of current income rules. |
| Glendale / Bear Valley | 2026 limits now verified from Glendale’s program page and BVES accepted Advice Letter 541-E. |
| IID / Roseville | IID sources conflict on 2026 income limits. Roseville’s current income table remains unconfirmed; no automatic income approval. |
| Blank / negative income | Asks for missing income and rejects negative values, avoiding false qualification from the spreadsheet's blank-input behavior. |
| Service areas | Uses the provider printed on the bill. A city or county name alone does not establish utility service. |

Check the price, unit, effective date and conditions together. Every reference links to its original utility publication.
Matching dates alone does not establish the correct plan, discount, voltage, service territory or generation provider. An unstated end date does not mean a rate remains current indefinitely.
These are source-checked components, not a complete bill calculator. Never add alternative options, different seasons or tier prices together. A generation-only rate needs the correct delivery charges. These records do not automatically fill or overwrite your bill prices.
For households and businesses. Public utility schedules usually need no account or API key. Community-choice rates cover generation; add the correct utility delivery charges separately.

The California Energy Commission roster defines this electricity-provider inventory. CPUC covers investor-owned utility tariff regulation; municipal utilities publish locally approved rates. An indexed page is not a verified numerical schedule, and a provider may offer many schedules and historical versions.
